This is a very high quality and very correct oil can bracket for the fire wall of the US WWII vehicles. This little bracket holds the oil can used to lubricate the brushes in the starter and generator. These are most common on the jeeps but were used on the CCKW, Dodge WC, Chevrolet, and many other trucks. These are always folded up against the dash, missing the lower spring and bracket, or just missing all together.
