This is a very correct and US MADE drop in oil filter element. This is not the cheep Taiwan /China imported junk from other dealers. This is for the Military standard canister oil filter. The military standard canister was stock on the MB, GPW, M38, M38A1, and M422 Mighty Mite. The canister inside opening is 4 3/4″. Sometimes the canisters end up on CJ2A and CJ3As. Military Standard Filter is normally stamped into the edge of the lid. This is much to large for the smaller civilian canisters. This comes with the lid gasket, however, it is smaller in diameter and will not fit the military lid correctly. Please measure your inside opening to make sure you get the correct one. This filter is 4 1/4″ across and 4 1/2″ tall.
