This is a new very high quality heavy duty seal and felt outer pre-seal. This is for the Dana 18 transfer case or TC-18 out put shaft. This will fit both front and back out put shafts. These are almost always in need of replacing. The Dana 18, Spicer 18, or Brown-Lipe transfer case was used on the MB, GPW, CJ2A, Cj3A, CJ3B, M38, M38A1, M170, and early Cj5. It was also used on the Willys wagons and trucks that were four wheel drive. The felt pre-seal fits into the little flange on the back side of the front or rear output yolk. It keeps the dust and mud off the inner seal. QTM Parts

NOTE: A seal will not stop a leak if the sleeve on the yolk is grooved. (worn out) On the rear out put shaft always put a little RVT sealant on the splines before reinstalling the yolk. This stops the gear dope ooze around the splines which is common with the Dana 18.
